Biofinity Toric contact lenses: common questions

Do I need a prescription to order Biofinity Toric contact lenses?

Yes. You need a current contact lens prescription. A contact lens prescription is not the same as a glasses prescription: it names the lens brand, base curve (BC) and diameter (DIA), and the powers often differ from your glasses. Order the exact lens and details written on your prescription for each eye.

How much do Biofinity Toric contact lenses cost?

The price for your prescription and quantity is shown above once you choose your options for each eye. Buying more boxes at once lowers the price per box, and the Monthly Subscription is the lowest price per box, 13% less than a single box. Delivery is free.

How often do I replace Biofinity Toric lenses?

Replace each lens every month, counted from the day you open it, not by the number of days worn. Between wears, clean and disinfect your lenses with the solution your optometrist recommended. Never top up old solution and never use tap water: both have been linked with corneal infection.

Can I sleep in Biofinity Toric contact lenses?

CooperVision lists Biofinity Toric for extended wear of up to 6 nights and 7 days when prescribed. Sleeping in soft contact lenses is consistently linked with a higher risk of serious corneal infection than daytime-only wear. Only sleep in your lenses if your optometrist has specifically prescribed overnight wear for you.

Can I swim or shower in contact lenses?

It is best avoided. Tap, pool, spa and shower water are not sterile and can carry Acanthamoeba, a rare organism that can cause a severe corneal infection. Case-control studies link this infection with storing lenses in tap water (in rigid lens wearers) and with wearing reusable lenses while swimming or bathing. Findings for showering are mixed. Keep lenses and cases away from water.

What are toric contact lenses?

Toric lenses correct astigmatism, where the eye focuses light unevenly, usually because the cornea is curved more in one direction than the other. They have different powers in different directions and are shaped to sit in a set position on the eye. In a randomised trial of adults with low to moderate astigmatism, toric soft lenses gave sharper measured vision than spherical lenses.

How does the Monthly Subscription work?

Choose the Monthly Subscription option above and your lenses are reordered and charged automatically each month, so you do not run out, saving you 13% compared with buying a single box. Delivery is free. You can pause or cancel anytime.

Eye pain, redness, light sensitivity or blurred vision? Remove your lenses and contact your optometrist the same day.
